A Low Country native, Dr. Cynthia Feldman is the owner of Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. After earning her Bachelor of Science from Clemson University, Cynthia received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina. She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. Before opening her own compounding pharmacy, Cynthia worked as the Director of Pharmacy for a large Louisiana hospital and as an Inspector for the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Cynthia is specially trained in the art of pharmaceutical compounding and currently counsels and compounds patient-specific medication for pediatric, geriatric, veterinary, hormone replacement, and pain management patients as well as specialty cosmeceuticals. Cynthia lives with her husband, Josh Feldman, and their children in Mt. Pleasant. She is an active member of the South Carolina Pharmacist Association, the National Chain Pharmacist Association, and the Professional Compounding Centers of America.
Born and raised in upstate NY, Dr. Courtney Jarvis attended Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Albany, NY where she received both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. Upon graduation, Courtney completed a residency focused on providing medication therapy management to patients in a primary care setting. In 2001, Dr. Jarvis became part of the Pharmacy Practice faculty at MCPHS University’s School of Pharmacy, in Worcester, MA. In addition to teaching pharmacy students, she helped train medical students and residents at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in the area of pharmacotherapy. Courtney is certified in immunization delivery, medication therapy management, and diabetes care. In 2017, Courtney left the cold weather behind, relocated to the low country, and began working at Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding. Courtney lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband, Aaron, and two daughters.
Dr. John Thornsberry joins Sweetgrass Pharmacy with a wealth of experience in pharmaceutical compounding, cultivated through a distinguished career spanning multiple states. Originally from Texas, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Southern Arkansas University before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
John’s professional journey is marked by a proven ability to develop and lead thriving compounding pharmacies. He successfully built and managed a network of pharmacies in Arkansas and also directed a specialized compounding-only pharmacy on the East Coast.
At Sweetgrass Pharmacy, John applies his extensive knowledge and hands-on experience to elevate the compounding team’s capabilities, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of personalized medication. His expertise encompasses a broad range of compounding techniques and therapeutic applications.
He now resides in Charleston with his wife and two daughters, embracing the coastal lifestyle. Outside of his professional endeavors, John enjoys spending quality time with his family and pursuing his passion for woodworking.
Jen is a highly skilled CPA and CFO with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in financial analysis, forecasting, budget management, and financial statement preparation. Her extensive background includes leading teams and driving financial strategies to ensure organizational success. Jen holds a Doctorate in Accounting and is a Certified Professional Coach, which enables her to provide expert guidance and mentorship. Personally, she is happily married for over 20 years and enjoy spending time with her two beloved Cocker Spaniels.
Senior Management
Molly is a Charleston native who grew up in the Lowcountry with her mother, sister, and brother. She earned a BA in English Literature from the College of Charleston, along with minors in Film Studies and Psychology. Before joining the Sweetgrass Pharmacy team, Molly served as head counselor for a local nonprofit after-school program. She has been with Sweetgrass Pharmacy for over 10 years and was recently married and welcomed a baby girl. Molly volunteers weekly with Reading Partners, helping at-risk youth develop strong reading skills. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching movies, and playing team trivia.
Sydney joined Sweetgrass Pharmacy full time in 2024 after spending two summers interning with the team while earning her undergraduate degree in biology from Clemson University. Originally from the greater Charlotte area, she has since grown to love the Lowcountry. In her role, Sydney works closely with the outside sales team to help get new offices set up and supported and enjoys the relationships she builds with providers and office staff. She has also found a passion for using her creativity to spearhead the company’s marketing efforts. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, spending time with friends, and getting lost in a good book.
Elyse Betschart, SHRM-CP, brings a diverse background and a passion for people to her role at Sweetgrass Pharmacy & Compounding. A Chicago native and U.S. Army veteran, she began her professional path in luxury wholesale before spending a decade in independent insurance, where she discovered her passion for Human Resources. Now a certified HR professional (SHRM-CP), Elyse focuses on policy creation, people development, and talent acquisition to help cultivate a positive workplace culture. She is currently pursuing her degree in Human Resource Management, further deepening her knowledge, and enhancing her impact in the field. Outside of work, Elyse is an avid supporter of the South Carolina Stingrays hockey team and serves as a foster mom for the Charleston Animal Society—demonstrating her love for both community and compassion.

Susan has lived in South Carolina her entire life. She has been in the industry for over 25 years, covering a multitude of specialties. She prides herself on her dedication to meeting her offices’ and their patients’ prescription needs. Susan is married with three grown daughters. In her free time, she advocates for animal welfare, enjoys all the beauty the coast has to offer, and spends time with her grandchildren.
