A Low Country native, Dr. Cynthia Feldman is the owner of Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. After earning her Bachelor of Science from Clemson University, Cynthia received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina. She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. Before opening her own compounding pharmacy, Cynthia worked as the Director of Pharmacy for a large Louisiana hospital and as an Inspector for the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Cynthia is specially trained in the art of pharmaceutical compounding and currently counsels and compounds patient-specific medication for pediatric, geriatric, veterinary, hormone replacement, and pain management patients as well as specialty cosmeceuticals. Cynthia lives with her husband, Josh Feldman, and their children in Mt. Pleasant. She is an active member of the South Carolina Pharmacist Association, the National Chain Pharmacist Association, and the Professional Compounding Centers of America.
Born and raised in upstate NY, Dr. Courtney Jarvis attended Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Albany, NY where she received both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. Upon graduation, Courtney completed a residency focused on providing medication therapy management to patients in a primary care setting. In 2001, Dr. Jarvis became part of the Pharmacy Practice faculty at MCPHS University’s School of Pharmacy, in Worcester, MA. In addition to teaching pharmacy students, she helped train medical students and residents at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in the area of pharmacotherapy. Courtney is certified in immunization delivery, medication therapy management, and diabetes care. In 2017, Courtney left the cold weather behind, relocated to the low country, and began working at Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding. Courtney lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband, Aaron, and two daughters.
Our Pharmacists
Alex was born and raised in Fremont, Indiana, and attended the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. He attained his bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 2019 and his PharmD in 2021. After graduation, Alex made stops in Greenville and Aiken, South Carolina before moving to Charleston and starting at Sweetgrass in February 2024. Alex’s time outside of work is spent exercising and scratching his athletic itch (whatever sport that is at the time), learning to prepare new meals, and visiting family in Asheville, NC.
Kailey is a Charleston native, graduating from the University of South Carolina in 2016. She then chose to attend the Medical University of South Carolina to pursue her dream of becoming a pharmacist. She began working at Sweetgrass Pharmacy, as an intern during her first year of pharmacy school and has been with us ever since. She now serves as the Pharmacist In Charge at Sweetgrass Pharmacy Carolina Park. She resides in Mt. Pleasant with her husband, Jackson, and her son, Caden. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hanging out on the boat, or shopping on King Street.
Shannon is our Pharmacist in Charge at the Seaside Farms location. She was raised in Charleston and completed her Bachelors of Science in Biology at Winthrop University before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2022 from the Medical University of South Carolina. She enjoys spending time with family and taking her dog, Penny, on adventures.
Christine was born and raised in Cape Cod, MA, she graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science degree. She went on to earn her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina. In her free time, she loves to travel and spend time with her husband, her two daughters, her two dogs Beckett and Maverick, and their pony Strawberry.
Emily grew up in a small town outside Charlotte, NC. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Salem College, in Winston-Salem, NC, she relocated to Charleston, SC. A few years later she enrolled at MUSC to obtain her Doctorate of Pharmacy. She spent the first 10 years of her career in retail pharmacy, then chose to take some years off to be a full-time Mom to her three children. Emily has returned to pharmacy and is overjoyed to work for Sweetgrass Pharmacy. Emily resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband Joe and three children. In her spare time, she likes to run a lot, including marathons.
Maria was born and raised in Evansville, IN. After completing her Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences, she started pharmacy school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She started working as a pharmacy intern in her first year of pharmacy school in 2019 at Sweetgrass Pharmacy. She graduated with her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2023, which is when she started as a pharmacist here at Sweetgrass. In her free time, she enjoys reading and drinking coffee.
Dr. Christina Muller is a Charleston native who attended Clemson University and later received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2003. Christina has worked in the community pharmacy industry for nearly 30 years in both independent and retail chain. In her previous roles before coming to Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding, she held both director and area leadership positions covering both South Carolina and Georgia. She is certified in Immunization Delivery and Medication Therapy Management services. When not at work Christina lives on Daniel Island, and enjoys spending time with her husband Cal, her two children, Emma and Jackson, and their Boykin Spaniel, Duke!
Management
Charleston native, Molly grew up in the Lowcountry with her mother, sister, and brother. She attended the College of Charleston earning her BA in English Literature, and minors in Film Studies and Psychology. Before joining the Sweetgrass Pharmacy team, she was the head counselor of a local non-profit after-school program. She volunteers weekly with Reading Partners, an organization that helps teach at-risk youth how to read. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, watching movies, and playing team trivia!
Nikki Hughes is the Operations Manager at Sweetgrass Pharmacy. A North Carolina native, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. Nikki is Certified as an organization specialist. She is married with one child who will attend Clemson University in the fall. Now residing in Mount Pleasant, she proudly calls the Lowcountry home. In her spare time, Nikki enjoys reading, photography, travel, following UNC basketball, and practicing martial arts—she is on the verge of earning her black belt in American-freestyle Martial Arts. Most importantly, she cherishes spending quality time with her family.
Lauren was born in Minot, North Dakota and relocated to Charleston when she was 8 after living in England for a few years. She has been with Sweetgrass Pharmacy for over 3 years and has more than 10 years of pharmacy experience as a nationally and state certified pharmacy technician. Currently, she is working within the Carolina Park location managing and ensuring smooth operations within both pharmacy locations. She loves to travel to broaden her skills in her field and was recently in Antarctica overseeing pharmacy operations for the United States Antarctic Program. When she has downtime, she loves to cook for friends and family and enjoys reading a good book.
Alan Gromest, M.B.A., SHRM-CP is a Human Resources professional with over 15 years’ experience who started working at Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding as the Human Resources Manager in April of 2024. Prior to that he was the Human Resources Director for Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit where he supported staff and implemented many programs such as maternity leave benefits, 401(k) retirement, and rewards and recognition. Throughout his career, Alan has been committed to innovation in making employees ability to do their work more efficiently by automating many HR Functions. Alan has also worked for the National Association of Realtors and Washington Nationals Baseball Club in Washington, DC.
Alan earned his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the College of Charleston and went to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania for undergraduate studies. He has been an active member of the College of Charleston’s M.B.A. Alumni Board of Directors since 2019 and assists in mentoring M.B.A. candidates. He is also certified SHRM-CP professional.
Originally from New Jersey, Alan and his wife Kaylan reside in John’s Island, SC with their dog, Penny Lane. He’s passionate about the New York Football Giants, going to concerts and seeing artists such Billy Joel, Meshuggah, In Flames, and Devin Townsend, and eating a really good slice of cheese pizza.
José was born in Chinandega, Nicaragua, where he studied pharmacy at the Universidad Cristiana de Nicaragua. During this time he also worked at Ramos laboratories and a local medical clinic pharmacy. After graduating from pharmacy school, he continued his professional development at the College of Pharmacy of Costa Rica and worked at Don Gerardo community pharmacy. In 2015, he moved to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina where he married his wife Rosita. Jose joined the Sweetgrass team two years later eager to learn and gain experience in American pharmacy while applying his Spanish-speaking skills, knowledge & experience to serve and improve the lives of others in the community. In 2019, Jose and Rosita were blessed with their son Jasper and one year later they adopted a golden retriever named Milo. Jose is a board certified sterile compounding technician who holds pharmacy technician certifications at both the state and national levels.
Jen is a highly skilled CPA and CFO with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in financial analysis, forecasting, budget management, and financial statement preparation. Her extensive background includes leading teams and driving financial strategies to ensure organizational success. Jen holds a Doctorate in Accounting and is a Certified Professional Coach, which enables her to provide expert guidance and mentorship. Personally, she is happily married for over 20 years and enjoy spending time with her two beloved Cocker Spaniels.
Sales Representatives
Susan has lived in South Carolina her entire life. She has been in the industry for over 25 years, covering a multitude of specialties. She prides herself on her dedication to meeting her offices’ and their patients’ prescription needs. Susan is married with three grown daughters. In her free time, she advocates for animal welfare, enjoys all the beauty the coast has to offer, and spends time with her grandchildren.
Sydney was born and raised just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. After interning with us for two summers during her undergraduate studies, she joined our team full-time after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Clemson University in May 2024. Sydney works in inside sales, overseeing our out-of-state territories. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Clemson Tigers, playing pickleball, and hosting friends and family.
